In the Pink

At the 4th Annual Kendal Cross Training Weekend on May 2nd, Mike Liptrot and top Karate coach Ian Abernethy were awarded their Pink Belts for helping promote the Breast Cancer Charity Campaign by a group of women from Deeping Shotokan Karate Club who attended the seminar.
Over forty students from all over Britain, including one man from Norway, attended the course designed to show an integration between judo and Applied Karate. The latter takes and puts together various aspects of the different more formal and traditional forms of Karate.
Those taking part ranged from beginners to International competitors and all enjoyed the very full and active two days of tuition and practice. In fact it could be said "They were Tickled Pink."
