It is with deep regret we have to postpone our competition on May 27th due to technical difficulties with our new booking in programme. (It wasn't working). Double honour for Mike Liptrot

The first award saw Kendal Town Council present Mike with the Wainwright Award as an outstanding embodiment of the pride and spirit in Kendal by encouraging young people to achieve their potential through sport and helping to improve the facilities in the town. read more

EnglIsh Open Success for club duo

A duo of Champions came back from the English Open Championships held at iCE Sheffield, when David Groom and Sisilia Rasaokisoki who is from Fiji and training at Kendal Judo Club in preparation for the Olympics. read more

When the judoka turned up for their second lesson of the BJA ABC (Adult Beginners' Course) at the Club they did not expect quite so high a quality of instructors. read more

Success for Isaac at North West Age Banded Championships

Isaac Hill produced a confident performance at the North West Judo Championships for those born in 1996/97 at the weekend starting with a quick win with a throw against Jack Evans from Worcester. He followed this up with an even quicker throw against James Hendin from Hampshire scoring Ippon in just 32 seconds. read more

Silver & Gold for Annie-Jo in one Weekend

Annie-Jo Gregory, with Fijian Sisilia Naisiga who is training at Kendal before competing in the Oceania Olympic Qualifying tournament, as her coach, invaded the Midland Area and came away with a Silver medal in her first competition for some time. read more

David Groom, Silver British Closed, Commonwealth Champion & North West Open Champion

David Groom had a hectic ten days at the end of January and beginning of February.
In the British Closed (Trials) in the Under 81 kilo category, he lost only to Thomas Reed from Devizes in the fight for Gold by a Waza-ari having beaten Kendal Club's Danny Harper in a very close contest in the first round. Danny came fifth with a strangle against Ryan Hunter of Knottingley as the bell sounded. read more

British Closed (Trials)

The British National Trials brought a successful day for Kendal Judo Club members with David Groom gaining a silver medal, MIchael Horley a Bronze and just outside the medals a fifth place for Danny Harper. read more

VOLUNTEERS WANTED FOR OLYMPIC TRAINING CAMPS

Between Christmas and the New Year just gone, Kendal Judo Club was host to 166 top international judo competitors including the whole of Britain's Men & Women's Olympic Squad as they started their intensive training regime leading up to the 2012 London Olympic Games in London starting July 28th. read more
