German Success for Alex

Alex Farrington spent two weeks working hard to lose four kilos in weight in order to reach her fighting weight in time for the German International Judo Championships for the visually impaired held in Heidlberg. All to no avail as the organisers decided, at the last minute, to combine the Under 52 kilo category (Alex's weight) with the Under 57 kilo players. read more

Kendal Coach Gets £1,400 to find rising stars

A £1,400 grant has been given to Kendal judo coach Mike Liptrot to develop 14 young sporting stars. Liptrot has received funding from Kendal Town Council to sponsor the youngsters on the pre-Olympic training camp based in the town. read more

Services to Sport Honour for Michael

Kendal Judo Club's Senior Coach, Mike Liptrot, was deservedly presented with an Award for his Services to Sport at the Cumbria 09 Sports Award Dinner held at the Low Wood Hotel, Windermere. read more

Kendal Mountain Festival Visits the Dojo

The Kendal Mountain Festival is an annual event which brings thousands of climbers into Kendal for a series of talks, films and lectures. So popular is the festival that the organisers were running out of venues and came to Kendal Judo Club and asked if we could turn the dojo into a lecture theatre. read more
