At the 4th Annual Kendal Cross Training Weekend on May 2nd, Mike Liptrot and top Karate coach Ian Abernethy were awarded their Pink Belts for helping promote the Breast Cancer Charity Campaign by a group of women from Deeping Shotokan Karate Club who attended the seminar. read more

Kendal Coloured Belt Competition Booking In Times - Sunday May 9th

The Entry for the event has not been as large as we would have hoped for this inaugural event so all the Under 16 Year old both Red & Yellow Belts and the Orange to 16th Mon should book in at 9.00am.
The Kyu Grade competitors should book in at 12 Noon.

Visit by Frank Wieneke

A very successful Visit was made by the National German Coach and Olympic Gold Medallist Frank Wieneke to Kendal Judo Club. 20 Coaches and players took advantage of his expertise.
His main technique was his world famous Seoi Nage. He introduced several variations and methods of entry into the throw. read more

Kendal Players in GB Team in Brazil

Michael Horley and David Groom were part of the Great Britain team which won a bronze and silver medal in two major televised Team competitions in Brazil. They fought against World Champions, Olympic Medallists and Pan American Champions from Brazil, France and Portugal. read more

World Championship 5th Place for Alex

A World Championship 5th Place gave Kendal Judo Club's Alex Farrington her career best performance in Antalya, Turkey last week. Fighting in the Under 57 kilo weight category Alex started well with a minor score against Marion Coadou of France but was then held down for the full point. Undeterred she then came back strongly in the repechage throwing Fassa of Greece for Ippon (full point). read more

Frank Wieneke Coaching at Kendal Judo Club

The 1984 Olympic Champion, and until recently the Head Coach of German Senior Men's Team, Frank Wieneke is coming to just two clubs in Britain for some coaching workshops.
