It is with great sadness that we have to announce that at 10.20 am on October 23rd 2009 our President and founder member Alan Campbell died after a protracted illness.
Alan's funeral took place on Monday, November 2nd 2009 at the Lancaster Crematorium. The service, attended by over 200 people, was conducted by a long time friend of "Cam" and Kendal Judo Club, Brian Regan who travelled up from Coventry especially for the occasion. Following the funeral a reception was held at Kendal Judo Club Dojo, which was well attended with lots of memories of Alan recalled by the large numbers of friends and relatives present. This included a slide show projected onto the club's large screen of old photos, some going back to the 1950s, of Alan along with a large number of his friends and family.
