Michael Horley in Japan
Thursday, 17 December 2009
Michael started his debut in a Grand Slam tournament (The Kano Cup) very well with a brilliant seoi-nage throw against Robert Dumke from Germany (see the photo taken from the IJF WEB Site), one of the best throws in the whole tournament. Sadly he then met the World No. 3 at Under 90 kilos, Andrei Kazusionak and under the current ridiculous new IJF repechage system which only allows a player back into the repechage if he (or she) gets to the quarter finals that was the end of Michael's day.
Michael said after his short encounter with the Belarusian 'Now I know why they call it a grand SLAM Tournament.'
