Kendal Coach Gets £1,400 to find rising stars
Wednesday, 09 December 2009
A £1,400 grant has been given to Kendal judo coach Mike Liptrot to develop 14 young sporting stars. Liptrot has received funding from Kendal Town Council to sponsor the youngsters on the pre-Olympic training camp based in the town. Liptrot said: “The camp is on for the next three years and it is up to me to identify these kids and try to get them into sport and show them the pathways they can follow into club sport.” He said the young people do not have to be judo stars and the camp can work for lots of sports.
