Alexander Yatskevich Visits Kendal

Over 50 Coaches and players came from all over the country to Kendal in November for a first class coaching session given by Belgium's National Coach for the last 15 years - Alexander Yatskevich.
They were not disappointed, for the full day session had them trying traditional techniques as well as some more esoteric ideas. read more

A potentially disastrous Hansoku Make decision for an"alleged" head dive sixteen seconds into his first fight nearly had Michael Horley out of the Senior Trials before he had even drawn breath.
However despite the direct hansoku he was allowed to continue and he made up for the error during the rest of the day. read more

Nick Hill, 2nd Dan, was the success story when he beat his Scottish opponent in the final of the Over 55 years Under 66 kilos British Masters Championships, held in Walsall, with a leg pickup (Morote Gari) for the Gold medal. read more

Requirements in a junior judo competition, such as the North West Area Closed Championships which were held at St. Helens, include that a contest winner takes his or her name to the table official to ensure that the correct player goes through to the next round. read more

Westmorland County Show - which, this year had over 26,000 visitors during the day -is the premier Cumbrian Agriculture Show of the year and at its very first apperance Kendal Judo Club took the prize for the "Best Non-Agricultural Show Stand" read more

    Lakeland Open 2008 Day 1 Results

    Over 200 players took part in this year's Lakeland Open Championships held during the August Bank Holiday weekend. They came from as far apart as Dartford in the South and Aberdeen in the North.
    Our thanks to the Newbury's Computer System - the referees, officials and all the helpers without whom the event could not and cannot happen, especially the ladies who made the bacon butties. read more
